Abstract

The corrosive esophagitis and gastritis by ingestion of strong acid is rare in recent decades in our country. We experienced a case of corrosive esophagogastric associated with gastric mucosal necrosis; stricture of the lower one third of esophagus and the body and antrum of stomach that were revealed by the UGI endoscopy with biopsy and esophagogastrogram in 52-year old male. His chief complains were hematemesis and dysphagia 10 days after ingestion of about 20cc of toilet bowel cleaner; HC1; for suicidal purpose.
