Abstract
Brunner's gland adenoma is a rare entity of benign duodenal tumor. These lesions are usually asymptomatic and detected incidently by radiologic studies or endoscopy. The clinical manifestations are nonspecific gastrointestinal complaints such as bloating; dyspepsia or epigastric discomfort; and the tumor often gives rise to bleeding or obstruction. For definitive diagnosis and treatment; the lesions must be removed surgically or endoscopically. Endoscopic excision is indicated if the tumor is pedunculated. We recently reported a case of very long pedunculated duodenal polyp originating from bulb and passed through the duodenal third portion lumen. We applied hemoclip on the base of polyp for preventing bleeding and perforation. And then this polyp was successfully resected by endoscopic snare polypectomy. After removal; the final pathologic diagnosis was Brunner's gland adenoma.
