Abstract
A Choledochocele (type III choledochal cyst) is a cystic or diverticular dilatation of intramural part of the terminal biliary tree protruding into the duodenal lumen. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is very useful for a correct diagnosis. The choice of the treatment of choledochal cyst is surgical resection; because of possibility of malignant transformation and biliary obstruction. But choledochocele; reported to have very low potential of malignant transfomation; high risk operative complications and morbidity; has been advocated as an alternative to treatment by endoscopic sphincterotomy. We report a case of choledocholcele successfully treated by endoscopic sphincterotomy.
Key Words: Choledochocele, Endoscopic sphincterotomy
