Abstract
Duodenal atresia is amenable to prenatal ultrasonographic diagnosis in the majority of cases. Such diagnosis is based on visualization of the "double-bubble" sign; which represents the simultaneous distension of the stomach and duodenum. Most cases of duodenal atresia are first diagnosed in the third trimester of pregnancy; and some reports suggest that the diagnosis may not be possible before the third trimester. We present a case of congenital duonenal atresia diagnosed by ultrasonography at 34 weeks gestational age.
Key Words: Congenital duodenal atresia, Double bubble
